Pat Liston was the founding member of the pride of St. Louis..."Mama's Pride", Pat was the key songwriter, lead vocalist
and guitarist for Mama's Pride.
Songs like "She's a Stranger to Me Now", "Laurie Ann", "Young & Free" and of course "Blue Mist" are some of the songs
Pat wrote and sang that still get air play on the stations of St. Louis to this day.
Mama's Pride had two successful albums in the 70's, "Mama's Pride" and "Uptown & Lowdown". These albums were produced
by notable producers, Arif Mardin and Jim Mason.
Mama's Pride toured with top artists such as The Charlie Daniels Band, Kansas, Marshall Tucker, Stephen Stills,
Bob Seger, Alice Cooper, Heart, Lynyrd Skynrd, Ringo Starr, Todd Rundgren, Joe Walsh, and Loggins & Messina. In 1978
they were even Greg Allman's exclusive back-up band.
Mama's Pride disbanded in 1982. Then in 1992 the group re-united for a third album, "Guard Your Heart". This album was
produced by Grammy winning producer Jim Gaines. In 1994 Mama's Pride disbanded for the last time.
Since that time, Pat has continued to write new songs. He played for two years at McNulty's Irish Pub in Westport Plaza,
embracing his Irish heritage, by doing his own music and traditional and contemporary Irish songs. He has opened for
notable Irish performers such as Paddy Reilly and The Dublin City Ramblers. He is has also been working on his new
"Blue Mist" CD. It is all new music from Pat with the exception of the title cut...the Mama's Price classic "Blue Mist".
Pat did a Mama's Pride re-union concert on April 12, 2003 with his brother Danny and old friends Max, Kevin, Dickie, and
Paul. The "Blue Mist" CD was released at that performance.
Pat will continue performing as a solo artist and with his new band. They will be performing Pat's old Pride classics
along with timeless Beatles hits and material from the new "Blue Mist" CD.
